The One TWO Months Later

Well.  Life took off even more than I had expected.  As life tends to do.  So here I am two months after I said I was looking for time to write, finally finding time to write.  Of course just like last time, I am also multitasking, but this is important.  I have had so many more sessions that I would love to share.  Of course, most of those were for Christmas cards, so I would not have been able to post them until after Christmas anyways.  So not much has been lost I suppose.  Within the next week, I plan to make these posts a priority on my to do list.  For now, I would like to post about someone who is very near and dear to my heart. My sister Lydia.  I am posting about her because... well, pretty much because she is literally sitting in front of me.  So I took this picture just now....
She is pretty and I like to take pictures of her for fun, so here are some pictures of my beautiful and sweet sister from the past year.

The One a Month Later

Well, it has been a month since I last posted as I have been quite very busy.  In the past month, my brother got engaged, my older sister moved, I went to Bald Head Island, I visited my best friend in South Carolina, I flew to Florida to see my little sister and my uncle, I completed half of my online classes and started completely new ones, and I also have another job.  So this past month has been crazy.  I searched for any free time in which I could post and was obviously unsuccessful.  But finally here I am, typing again.  Hurrah! Free time at last! But even as I sit here I have a long list of things which I need to do during the rest of my free time today like shop for a Halloween costume and clean my apartment.  So for the next month, if I do have time to post, just keep in mind that the things I post probably happened at least one month earlier as I will be posting at a bit of a delay.
To sum it up so that I can get to my other tasks, I am not a perfect person nor will I pretend to be.  But it is necessary for me to be the best version of myself that I can be. And so, I will continue this as I promised myself that I would.  Here are some previews of posts which I look forward to sharing soon.

The One Where It's FINALLY FALL!

Y'all. I LOVE fall photos.  As in pictures when people are falling AND pictures during this wonderful season which we have just entered.  Today when my little sister so kindly reminded me that the first day of fall was yesterday (how she knew as a six year old and I did not is beyond me), I got really excited.  Excited for long sleeves, sweatshirts, jackets, jeans, but especially for fall photos.  The colors are so beautiful, and people are more comfortable because they are not constantly sweating during sessions.  So in honor of the fall pictures to come, here are some pictures that I love from two super fun sessions from the past few years.

The One with a Decade of Pain

This year marks one decade of family trips up to Lake Gaston.  LKG has become a home away from home for all of us during the summer and is probably my mom's favorite place in the entire world. I have known that I would write about this past decade at the lake all week, but I did not know which angle to take yet as there are many.  But as I stressed through tests and papers this week, I knew I needed something to make me laugh, and so I needed this post to not contain any smiles.  You see, it is not always rainbows and sunshine out on the loch.  No, it is often riddled with pain, hurt, and screaming.  That's right, the lake can be painful, but most say that it is worth it.  Tubing has been tradition for almost every single caravan who has visited the lake house regardless of this pain.  Many different friends and family members have endured my mother's and brothers' boat driving skills, and almost all have survived.  So in order to celebrate one of the greatest tangible blessings in my life, I have compiled a group of the best tubing pictures that I have taken over the past ten years.

Disclaimer: The images you are about to see are not happy pictures.  These depict stories of pain and torture.  Look and laugh at your own risk.

The One with a Same Year's Resolution

When I started this website, I told myself that I would try to photograph and post once a week for me.  Regardless of whether anyone reads it or looks at it or likes it, I like to write, I like to photograph, I like to edit, so for me I wanted to do this.  At midnight on January first, I even made this my 2015 New Year's Resolution.  Yet here I am, realizing that I did not even come close.  Even when I do get to take pictures, I just do not have time to write and post them.  So now that I have literally no free time between work and school and the people I love, I find myself needing this.  Needing to post, needing something that is just me.  So here I am saying I am going to do it this time.   I am going to post once a week or AT LEAST every other week.  This time I am going to do this.  I am.  Or at least I am hopeful that I am.  Well, only time will tell.  But I am SWAMPED this week so this counts for this week's post.  I will be back here next week with a Labor Day post.
In honor of throwback Thursday (#tbt), here are some pictures that I took with my cute, little, purple point-and-shoot Kodak in the 00's which I found and edited this summer.

The One with Adelina

In honor of her recent first birthday, the absolutely adorable Adelina. She was so easy to photograph and is such a ball of cuteness, laughter, and fun.  I heard she threw quite the raging party to celebrate, and I wish her at least one hundred more just like it!

The One in Canada

Earlier this month, I had the pleasure of traveling to Canada with some friends to visit some awesome people who recently started a church in the Greater Toronto Area,  Since I am not very good at explaining our trip, I will let my pictures do the talking.

So, let me tell you about my wonderful Canadian adventure.

First Canadian stop: Tim Hortons.  It was amazing.  I had a nutella doughnut and drank Oreo Capps for energy throughout the entire trip.

Our beautiful view for a large portion of the trip.
And these pictures show how much fun we had at the outdoor movie night, which was a lot of fun in case you can't tell.
Our fearless leaders.
He says he woke up like this.
Steven thought this was someone important. It wasn't.
And then we went downtown...
We were not steered wrong by the many people who recommended Smoke's.
Watching Suicide Squad filming in the streets of Toronto was quite interesting.
Just a bunch of studly models.
 Pretty much defines their relationship.
And then we got to stop by Niagara Falls.  Despite the dense fog, I really enjoyed it and hope to return to see the rest of the Falls.
And to finish off an amazing experience, Corey gave us the pleasure of watching him eat a "Death"ly sauced wing at Duff's.

Basically, we had an amazing time in Canada and hope to return next summer.  Thank you, Canada.  And on our next time around, perhaps we will be able to ride a moose.
